BACKGROUND

The client contacted Alatas Turkey for the inspection of the wire rope. Alatas technicians boarded the vessel for the task mentioned above. After boarding the vessel, Alatas Technicians and the ship engineer conducted a meeting.

After boarding the vessel, Alatas technicians carried out the necessary inspections to check all ropes with a man lift.

Job scope

Once Alatas Turkey technicians attended the vessel, a meeting was held with Mr. Semih, the vessel’s engineer.

The inspection was carried out to check all ropes with a man lift provided by the shipyard.

Alatas technicians inspected all the wires of Huismann Crane. They took the measurements from 6 different points of wire ropes.

In the inspection, the wire ropes were within the tolerance of the normative values. Additionally, there were no fractures or cracks in the wire bundles.

Alatas technicians detected corrosion on wire ropes due to lacking maintenance. They found no damage on the wires during the visual inspection.

After completing wire rope control of the Liebherr main crane, boom crane, and auxiliary crane, the technicians took measurements from 6 different points of wire ropes.

In the inspection, Alatas technicians determined that the wire ropes were within the tolerance of the normative values. Also, there were no fractures or cracks in the wire bundles.
