BACKGROUND
The Alatas Turkey Technicians attended the vessel for windlass temperature failure.
ALATAS’ SOLUTION
After making some observations, they provided solutions to solve it.
JOB SCOPE
- The technicians of Alatas Turkey were contacted for windlass temperature failure.
- First, due to the increased temperature on the hydro-motor, the professionals advised replacing and readjusting the solenoid valve group. The return check valve has to be disassembled, cleaned or replaced because of the hydraulic system’s overheating. So that the oil circulating in the system can be cooled more quickly, they advised maintaining the oil cooler and the electric motor on it.
- They noticed that joystick maintenance is necessary. They discovered that overheating had caused the hydraulic system oil to burn. They then refilled it with the proper hydraulic oil after consulting the manual.
- It is believed that the hydro motor is malfunctioning. The hydro-motor temperature data, which showed a rise in the local temperature, have been used to determine this. Therefore, the Alataas technicians advised disassembling the brakes, doing maintenance, and inspecting the gearbox-hydro-motor.
