INTRO

Re-activation of deck cranes out of long-term storage

BACKGROUND

A ship owner was in urgent need of replacing two desolate deck cranes on a bulk carrier.

ALATAS’ SOLUTION

ALATAS Singapore had in stock two second-hand ship cranes that were suitable for this project.
The cranes were sold from an ex-storage yard in India and shipped to Sri Lanka, Colombo Dockyard Limited (CDL).

JOB SCOPE

In the Shipyard, the cranes were fully overhauled, installed on board, and commissioned by Alatas India Marine Crane Service engineers.

The supply of special equipment such as bolt tensioners, function testing, overload testing, and handover to the owners was done by Alatas India, whereas Alatas Singapore supplied the required TTS crane spare parts and consumables.
