The VLCC Tanker was undergoing dry-dock repairs at Keppel Shipyard in Tuas and required an overhaul of a Sauer Danfoss PVG 32 on its hose handling cranes.
Onboard the vessel there is two MacGregor hose handling cranes types: HH 630-2020-4 and SWL 20T x 20M. There are also two provision cranes onboard: GP 100-0217.5-2 and GP 250-1017.5-2.
Alatas Singapore was tasked to carry out a 5 Yearly Crane Inspection. Among others, the agreed job scope included component overhaul, replacement of all hydraulic hoses and load testing.
The inspection found the Sauer Danfoss PVG 32 proportional control valves, were found to be corroded and had to be fully overhauled. Hydraulic valve repairs, overhaul and testing were carried out by our specialised Valve Repair Workshop.
