Offshore Crane Five Yearly Overhaul

A major offshore client wanted to prolong the life of their crane and reduce downtime.

To do this, the client would have to undergo a major overhaul period and the OoSP SOW had been highlighted through the annual CCEs and crew feedback.

Our clients received an in-house recommendation on the quality and value of our services, based on previously completed OoSP.

Alatas was selected from the tender process to execute the project due to reputation, experience and price.

Job Scope: Starboard Crane

  1. 36 days schedule given
  2. Replacement of slew bearing, A-frame, boom, winch, rope
  3. Install MIPEG 2000R and calibrate
  4. Install and commission emergency load lowering system (ELL)
  5. Manufacture, test, tag and install all hoses
  6. 5 yearly works

Job Scope: Port Crane

The deployment of multi-disciplined engineers enabled a smaller team to complete the work, increasing productivity.

The experienced team were able to think out of the box and complete the SOW against difficulties despite being supplied incorrect parts and extreme weather.

The project was completed within time and on budget and all work passed the inspection and load test from a third party.

The client was impressed with our multi-disciplined engineers’ ability to adapt to problems and resolve them. It was noted that the quality of the work produced was very high.
