Alatas Crane Services World Wide have secured a month contract with a subsea engineering service company for the removal and installation of 17 cranes onboard the Marjan and Zuluf fields owned and operated by Saudi Aramco in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The cranes are tower cranes, adapted for offshore use and for operation in hot climate.
The project, which is part of a larger work scope of field life extension, will see the life extension of the Marjan & Zuluf fields extended for a further 15 to 20 years.
“This is our initial step into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which is an area where we see large growth potential for both our Crane Service and Parts Sales business.
The award of this contract proves that Alatas is a recognised leader in Offshore Crane Service and by deploying our highly skilled multi-disciplined engineers, we are offering cost savings to our clients when compared to our competitors.
Our business model is based on sending the right person the first time to carry out the work. If its electrical, mechanical or hydraulic, our engineers have the skill set which negates the need for hydraulic techs, electricians and mechanics mobilising for the same job”.
Andreas Horntrich, Managing Director of Alatas Crane Services Worldwide
Alatas will deploy four Senior Service Engineers on rotation to complete the work scope with Alatas being responsible for the demolition, installation and commissioning of the cranes. The work will run until Q1 2019.
