Intro
Alatas has recently completed the inspection of 6 x Mooring Winches and associated HPUs on our client’s FPSO operating in West Africa
BACKGROUND
The winches had not been inspected or serviced in some time and the client required a specialist service to complete a detailed inspection and condition evaluation including recommendations on works required to assure integrity and operational safety of this critical equipment.
ALATAS’ SOLUTION
Alatas’ solution was to provide a team of multi-discipline technicians, supported by robust inspection procedures to complete the work.
- Alatas Engineering team reviewed the original design data for the winches and HPU.
- Alatas Engineering team produced detailed work packs and inspection procedures.
- Alatas provided mechanical, hydraulic, and inspection disciplines to execute the work.

Next Steps
Following the completion of the inspection Alatas will now complete the following scopes for our client.
- Complete spares obsolescence study for all winches and HPU.
- Complete a comprehensive overhaul of each winch and HPU.
