BACKGROUND
Alatas Turkey technicians checked the hoisting and luffing wire. They made preparations for the crane hoisting wire change. The thimble of the luffing wire and the old rope was removed. The new wire was connected to the drum. The hoisting thimble was installed. Finally, the technicians checked all the changed wires.
ALATAS’ SOLUTION
The technicians of Alatas Turkey checked the hoisting and luffing wire and started the job. They made removal, connection, welding, and checking to fix the problems.
FULL WORK SCOPE
Alatas Turkey technicians traveled to Varna, Bulgaria, and boarded the vessel.
Firstly the technicians checked the hoisting and luffing wires and started the job. Preparations were made for the number 1 crane hoisting wire change. The technicians transferred the drum and spooling machine to the top of the hatch cover for the wire change.
Then they removed the thimble of the luffing wire and placed it on top of the hatch cover with the help of the shipyard crane. The thimble part of the old wire was cut, and the nut was welded to the cut parts.
The technicians used the old wire as a guide rope, and the new wire was pulled. They lubricated the new wire with grease. After the new wire came to the drum, the old rope was removed. The old hoisting wire was transferred to the deck. Then the technicians connected the new wire to the drum. The thimble of the new wire was pulled towards the tower and its connection was made. After that, all the limits were removed by the ship’s personnel before starting the wire change.
The Alatas Turkey technicians cut off the thimble of the old luffing wire that was lowered on the hatch cover and welded a nut to its end. After the new wire came to the drum, they removed the old rope. They connected the new wire to the drum. Then the thimble was started to be pulled crane tower with the help of a shipyard Crane. The technicians replaced the thimble of the luffing rope. The hoisting thimble was lowered onto the hatch cover with the help of the shipyard crane and the thimble part of the old wire was cut, and the nut was welded to the cut parts.
The technicians connected the old wire and the new wire by welding. The new wire was wound on the drum. After the new wire came to the drum, the technicians removed the old rope. The old hoisting wire was transferred to the deck. Then, they connected the new wire to the drum. The thimble was to be pulled crane tower with the help of a shipyard crane.
The technicians installed the hoisting thimble and lastly, they checked all the changed wires and delivered it to the ship’s crew.
