Introduction:

At Alatas Singapore, we take pride in our commitment to ensuring the safety and performance of maritime equipment. Recently, our client entrusted us with a critical task: conducting a load test for four MacGREGOR marine deck cranes.

Background:

The maritime industry demands unwavering reliability, and one crucial aspect of that is ensuring the performance of deck cranes. These essential tools must undergo load tests every five years to guarantee their efficiency and safety.

Alatas’ Solution:

Alatas Singapore’s expertise came into play as we assigned experienced engineers and technicians to carry out the load test. Utilizing 50-ton water bags and calibrated load cells, we meticulously executed the examination, leaving no room for compromise.

Job Scope:

Our comprehensive approach began with a thorough function test of all four deck cranes to ensure they were in optimal working condition. Gradually, we filled the water bags up to their Safe Working Load (SWL) of 36 tons, conducting another successful function test. The ultimate challenge was met when we increased the load to an overload capacity of 41 tons, proving our commitment to safety and excellence. With the presence of a DNV surveyor, the load test was successfully completed.
