The client requested to exchange KBC cylinders.
BACKGROUND
The cylinders are constantly leaking due to seal failures and general wear.
ALATAS’ SOLUTION
Alatas rope access and hydraulic experts mobilized to the ship to change out cylinders. Alates technicians evaluate the work scope with vessel management and double-check the previously provided JSA-005 Job Specific Rope Access Cylinder Change Document to ensure the safe operation of the vessel and all crew.
JOB SCOPE
- In accordance with Alatas Procedures and Rope Access Rescue Plans
- AUSDOCAA138 RA-01
- AUSDOCAA170
- Site-Specific Pre-Discussed Cylinder Changeout Procedure
- Set Up All Rigging
- Cap and Plug All Hoses followed by Inspection of Hoses
- Removal Of All Pins followed by Inspection and Preparation for Re-Installation
- Lower Cylinder with Assistance from Adjacent Deck Crane
- Inspection/Removal and Replacement of Fitting and Valves
- Stroke New Cylinder to Length required for Re-Installation. Re Fitting of New Cylinder
- Re-Installation of All Pins
- Replacement of Hoses
- Function Test Of Crane and Bleed off of Any Excess Air in Hydraulics system
- Discuss any findings with Vessel Management and sign off all paperwork.
