BACKGROUND
The client contacted Alatas Turkey for the brake renewal and pressure adjustment. Alatas technicians traveled to Yalova and boarded the vessel for the task mentioned above. After boarding, the technicians completed the necessary inspections before proceeding to the main task. They then tested the crane.
ALATAS’ SOLUTION
After boarding the vessel, Alatas technicians did the necessary inspections. Once all checks were complete, they observed that the oil leak was coming from the brake block. Lastly, they checked the crane to ensure that it was functioning well.
Job scope
The technicians began to asses the crane after boarding.
They detected that the oil leak was coming from the brake block. After, they removed the hoisting hydraulic motor, hydraulic hose connections, and brake block.
Alatas technicians found that the shaft seal, brake pads, and discs were also damaged.
Alatas technicians found the bearing damaged during the installation of the new brake block and the removal of the old brake block.
They assembled the new brake block and then made the hydro motor and hydraulic hose connections.
The technicians tested the crane with satisfactory results.
