Intro

Alatas Turkey’s specialists visited the ship to inspect the crane. They started by controlling the crane and checking the condition of the hoisting pressure sensor and the luffing pressure sensor. With offset measurements from Crane 1, they performed the calibration in Crane 3. The technicians’ final opinion was that the Overload Test Mode should be activated prior to the load test.

Alatas Turkey’s technicians boarded the ship to investigate and resolve any issues.

JOB SCOPE

  • Immediately after attending to the vessel, the Alatas Turkey personnel got to work. They discovered that both the luffing pressure sensor and the hoisting pressure sensor were in good working order. 5mA was the current measured (no load), which is within the typical current range (4-20mA).
  • When they checked Crane 3, they saw that its load indicator read 13 tons (no load).
  • With offset data from Crane 1, the technicians calibrated Crane 3 with those values. Finally, the specialists stated that the Overload Test Mode should be activated prior to the load test and that the password for this mode is the product’s manufacturing number, which consists of the final four digits
