BACKGROUND

Alatas Turkey technicians attended to the vessel in Hamburg. They checked the sheaves and main hydraulic pump spare parts. They drained the hydraulic oil and opened, checked, and cleaned the hydraulic tank. They replaced the old pump. They removed the hydraulic pump, and fittings and renewed the hydraulic o-ring. Lastly, the technicians tested the Crane.

ALATAS’ SOLUTION

Alatas Turkey technicians checked the sheaves and main hydraulic pump spare parts. They made renewals, transfers, removals, checkings, and recommendations to make the change out of the cargo Crane pump.

FULL WORK SCOPE

The Alatas Turkey technicians traveled to Hamburg, Germany to board the vessel.

Firstly, they had a meeting with authorized personnel on board. Then they checked the sheaves and main hydraulic pump spare parts. They performed all necessary inspections before starting the procedures.

They drained the hydraulic oil. They opened, checked, and cleaned the hydraulic tank.

Then the technicians removed the old pump and replaced it with a new one. The hydraulic hoses of the hydraulic pump were disconnected, and then hydraulic fittings were removed from the old pump and transferred to the new pump by the Alatas Turkey technicians.

The technicians renewed the hydraulic O-rings received from the ship. The new pump was mounted on the winch and hydraulic hoses were attached to the pump.

The Alatas Turkey technicians tested the Crane operation. They tested all the functions. They checked the hydraulic pressure. The pump and system pressures were okay. Metal dust was seen on the tank return filter magnet.

The hydraulic tank cover was opened, and the tank was cleaned. Afterward, a hydraulic tank cover was installed.

Lastly, the technicians made some recommendations to address further troubleshooting.
