Alatas HK installs and commissions 4 Marine cranes for Hong Kong International Airport
Hong Kong International Airport Authority’s Skypier project are 2 ferry landing pontoons that will be finally installed near the Hong Kong International airport and will handle airport passengers and their luggage.
Each pontoon features 2 Sormec Marine Cranes M110 EL/5S with 0.75 ton SWL at 30 m boom length that will pick the luggage from different sized ferries and transfer it into aircraft luggage containers.
Alatas Hong Kong was contracted for installing and commissioning of these 4 cranes on the floating pontoons. Installation was carried out with a crawler crane onto pre-manufactured pedestals that are part of the pontoons. Alatas Hong Kong successfully commissioned and carried out function checks and tests of all crane movements. Load tests were carried out on the Sormec cranes successfully and to the satisfaction of the Hong Kong International Airport Authority.
