NMF crane boom Steel Repairs at Singapore Anchorage
A vessel with NMF slim-line container cranes suffered collision damage on the crane boom of crane number 2. The boom had to be repaired in the fastest possible time, as otherwise the vessel would have dropped out of it's charter.
ALATAS Singapore Pte Ltd mobilized floating Crane & Barge Transport and removed the boom at Singapore Anchorage for repair ashore. The boom was ready 4 days later, just in time for the vessel's return journey. It was installed at anchorage, again using floating crane assistance. The crane was assembled, function tested and successfully overload tested in presence of the class surveyor. One factor contributing to the speedy installation on board was the utilization of professional rigging equipment to remove and re-reeve the wire ropes. A hydraulic spooling machine was used for this task.
