The Manitowoc Ringer 4100 crane was installed on a diving support vessel. It had been neglected, besides corrosion issues, the drive components were worn and inoperable. Especially the electric, pneumatic and hydraulic control system as well as the electric frequency drive for aux. hoist were degraded to a condition almost beyond repair.

The owners engaged the services of another leading crane repair company, but no progress was made in troubleshooting and repairs and the customer was considering decommissioning the crane.

Upon arrival in Singapore, the crane was completely inoperable, but thanks to the technical abilities of ALATAS multi-disciplined engineers, the crane as made operational for emergency movement.

ALATAS Singapore put forward an overhaul and refurbishing schedule that the owner accepted. New parts as needed were procured by ALATAS and components such as hydraulic pumps, motors, gearboxes etc.. where overhauled in ALATAS specialized workshops in Singapore and in Dubai.

A team of mechanic, hydraulic and electric ALATAS specialists from both ALATAS Singapore and ALATAS Dubai offices attended en-route from Singapore to the Middle East and re-installed all new and re-furbished components.

A full system calibration then was carried out and the crane was handed back to the owners in fully operational condition.
