The vessel just had finished a dry-docking in China. Among others, an overhaul of the massive luffing cylinders of the Liebherr CBW 60 cranes was carried out by the Yard. Due to an assembly fault by the Chinese repairer, the piston got stuck and damaged one luffing cylinder. It could not be repaired and the vessel had to sail without luffing cylinders on crane 1.

The damaged cylinder was air freighted to ALATAS Singapore for urgent repairs. ALATAS Singapore, working on a 24/7 basis dismantled the cylinder, procured materials and machined and installed a new piston assembly.

The repaired cylinder then was delivered  to the arriving vessel at Singapore anchorage just in time. Cylinder installation was carried out by ALATAS Engineers, utilizing a floating crane and staging.
