Hydraulic repair to Hydralift crane telescopic boom and repair to slewing backlash, carried out by Alatas Americas in Alabama.
The Hydralift telescopic crane was experiencing problems with the boom not extending. First section cylinder required removal and resealing in shore workshop. Slewing backlash was checked, new bearings found to be required. Hydraulic slewing gearbox was sent to shore workshop for work to be carried out.
After repairs were completed by the shore workshop both boom and slew gearbox were replaced. An overload test was carried out after all other crane repairs were completed.
