Alatas carried out repairs to Hagglunds MacGregor pedestal cranes during Panama Canal passage. As the vessel was on time charter, carrying out repairs during the voyage reduced crane downtime in the next port of discharge. Crane repair was carried out by releasing wire ropes and lowering the crane boom onto the deck to allow steelwork repairs to the boom. Boom tip sheaves were also removed and new sheave bearings installed. Function testing was also carried out on the Hagglunds cranes.
