The vessel had a stricken DONG NAM Suez Rescue Boat Crane. The slewing bearing had seized. Without a functioning crane, the vessel would not be allowed passage through the Suez Canal. The vessel was diverted to Singapore for emergency repairs.
ALATAS attended, dismantled the slewing bearing, re-machined the raceways and fitted new, oversized ball bearings and spacers. With the repaired slewing ring installed, the crane was successfully tested and the vessel proceeded on it's way.
