Alatas Americas was contracted to remove an NMF crane tower and pedestal to facilitate the loading of oversized cargo (cold storage boxes). Due to the size of the “cold boxes” the overhang of the NMF aft crane hindered in the loading of the cargo.
The NMF crane and pedestal removal was carried out in the Port of Houston, with the reinstallation to be carried out approximately 60 days later. All work was to be carried out as per NMF crane manufacturer’s standards and by GL certification and overload testing verification.
